Amfenac-d5 Sodium Hydrate usage and description
Amfenac-d5 Sodium Hydrate is a deuterated form of Amfenac Sodium Hydrate that is commonly used as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for the treatment of pain and inflammation. It works by inhibiting the activity of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes that are responsible for producing prostaglandins, which are inflammatory mediators. Amfenac-d5 Sodium Hydrate is a potent inhibitor of both COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes, making it an effective medication for the relief of pain and inflammation associated with various conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and postoperative pain.
The chemical formula of Amfenac-d5 Sodium Hydrate is C15H8D5NNaO4.H2O, with a molecular weight of 343.32 g/mol. It is a white to off-white powder that is soluble in water and has a pKa value of 4.6. The deuterium substitution in Amfenac-d5 Sodium Hydrate provides an additional tool for the study of the pharmacokinetics and metabolism of Amfenac Sodium Hydrate in vivo.
As with all NSAIDs, Amfenac-d5 Sodium Hydrate should be used with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal bleeding, cardiovascular disease, and renal impairment. It is also contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the drug or its components. The recommended dose of Amfenac-d5 Sodium Hydrate should be determined by a healthcare professional based on the patient's condition, age, and other factors.
