N-Nitroso-L-(azetidine-d5)-2-carboxylic Acid (d5-NO-ACA) is a stable isotopically labeled derivative of N-Nitroso-L-(azetidine-2-carboxylic acid), which is a potent carcinogenic agent. d5-NO-ACA is used as an internal standard for analyzing NO-ACA in biological samples. This compound is used in the study of the mechanism of nitrosation and carcinogenicity of NO-ACA. The labeled compound is useful for quantitative analysis of NO-ACA in biological samples such as urine and blood. NO-ACA is a potent carcinogen that has been shown to induce tumors in animal models. This compound is formed by the reaction of nitrite with the amino acid proline. NO-ACA is believed to be involved in the formation of nitrosamines, which are known to be carcinogenic. The mechanism of action of NO-ACA is not well understood, but it is believed to be involved in the production of DNA adducts and the inhibition of DNA repair mechanisms. The chemical formula of d5-NO-ACA is C5H4D5N3O3. It has a molecular weight of 176.15 g/mol. The compound has a melting point of 203-205°C and a boiling point of 446.5°C. d5-NO-ACA is soluble in water and ethanol. The compound should be stored at -20°C and protected from light. It is important to handle the compound with caution as it is a potential carcinogen.
