Osimertinib-13C,d3 usage and description
Osimertinib 13C D3 is a stable isotope-labeled version of osimertinib, a medication used in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that has a specific mutation called EGFR T790M. Osimertinib 13C D3 is used as an internal standard in analytical applications such as liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) to accurately quantify the concentration of osimertinib in biological samples.
The chemical structure of osimertinib 13C D3 is nearly identical to osimertinib, but contains three carbon-13 isotopes in the pyrimidine ring. Osimertinib 13C D3 has a molecular weight of 505.43 g/mol, compared to osimertinib's molecular weight of 499.44 g/mol. The isotopic labeling of osimertinib 13C D3 does not affect its pharmacological properties or efficacy in treating NSCLC.
Osimertinib works by inhibiting the activity of the mutated EGFR protein, which is responsible for the growth and proliferation of cancer cells. By blocking this activity, osimertinib can slow down or stop the growth of NSCLC tumors. Osimertinib is typically administered orally once a day, with or without food.
In conclusion, osimertinib 13C D3 is a useful tool for accurately measuring the concentration of osimertinib in biological samples. Its isotopic labeling does not affect its pharmacological properties or efficacy in treating NSCLC.
