Simvastatin-d3 Lactone usage and description
Simvastatin D3 Lactone is a deuterated analog of Simvastatin Lactone, which is a well-known statin drug used to lower cholesterol levels in the blood. Simvastatin D3 Lactone is a stable isotopic form of Simvastatin Lactone, which contains three deuterium atoms instead of hydrogen atoms.
The chemical structure of Simvastatin D3 Lactone is similar to Simvastatin Lactone, except for the presence of deuterium atoms. It inhibits the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, which is responsible for the conversion of HMG-CoA to mevalonate. Mevalonate is a precursor of cholesterol, and the inhibition of HMG-CoA reductase reduces the production of cholesterol.
