Mebendazole-d3 usage and description
Mebendazole D3 is a deuterated form of the anthelmintic drug, Mebendazole. It is used to treat a variety of parasitic infections caused by roundworms, pinworms, hookworms, and whipworms. Mebendazole D3 is also used to treat infections caused by tapeworms and hydatid disease. The drug works by inhibiting the formation of microtubules in the parasite's cells, which prevents further growth and reproduction of the parasites.
Mebendazole D3 is available in tablet form, and the recommended dosage varies depending on the type of infection being treated. The drug is typically taken once a day with food, and the duration of treatment may range from a few days to several weeks.
Chemically, Mebendazole D3 is a white to slightly yellow crystalline powder with a molecular formula of C16H10D3N3O3. The drug has a molecular weight of 305.4 g/mol and a melting point of 288-290ยฐC. Mebendazole D3 is soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide, slightly soluble in methanol, and practically insoluble in water.
Like Mebendazole, Mebendazole D3 is generally considered safe and well-tolerated. However, some individuals may experience side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and headache. In rare cases, Mebendazole D3 may cause liver damage or allergic reactions. Therefore, it is important to consult with a healthcare provider before taking this medication.
