Nefopam-d4 Hydrochloride usage and description
Nefopam D4 Hydrochloride is a synthetic, non-opioid analgesic drug that is used for the management of moderate to severe pain. It is a derivative of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug propionic acid. Unlike opioids, Nefopam D4 Hydrochloride does not induce respiratory depression, making it a safer alternative for pain management. Additionally, it does not produce addiction, making it an ideal choice for patients who are at risk for substance abuse.
Nefopam D4 Hydrochloride is commonly used in post-operative pain management, chronic pain, and cancer pain. It is administered orally or intravenously and has a half-life of 3-4 hours. The drug is metabolized in the liver, and its metabolites are excreted via urine.
The chemical formula of Nefopam D4 Hydrochloride is C17H21D4ClNO, and its molecular weight is 295.82 g/mol. It is a white crystalline powder that is soluble in water and ethanol. Its chemical structure consists of a phenyl ring that is substituted with a di-methylamino group and a propionic acid moiety.
Nefopam D4 Hydrochloride works by inhibiting the reuptake of the neurotransmitters serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine. This action increases the levels of these neurotransmitters in the synaptic cleft, leading to analgesia. However, the exact mechanism of action of Nefopam D4 Hydrochloride is not fully understood.
