MonoAcetyl Dapagliflozin usage and description
MonoAcetyl Dapagliflozin is a medication used to treat Type 2 diabetes. It is an inhibitor of the sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2), which is responsible for reabsorbing glucose in the kidney. By inhibiting this process, MonoAcetyl Dapagliflozin allows glucose to be excreted in the urine, resulting in lower blood glucose levels.
Chemically, MonoAcetyl Dapagliflozin is a derivative of Dapagliflozin, an SGLT2 inhibitor. It is a white to off-white powder with a molecular formula of C22H24ClNaO8S and a molecular weight of 506.93 g/mol.
MonoAcetyl Dapagliflozin is administered orally in tablet form, with a recommended dose of 10 mg per day. It is typically taken in the morning, with or without food. It is important to note that MonoAcetyl Dapagliflozin should not be used to treat Type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
Like all medications, MonoAcetyl Dapagliflozin may cause side effects, including urinary tract infections, genital infections, and dehydration. It may also increase the risk of diabetic ketoacidosis in certain patients. It is important to discuss any potential side effects with a healthcare provider before starting treatment with MonoAcetyl Dapagliflozin.
