Azatadine-d3 usage and description
Azatadine-d3 is a deuterated form of Azatadine, which is a second-generation antihistamine medication. It is primarily used to treat symptoms of allergies such as hay fever, hives, and allergic rhinitis, by blocking the effects of histamine in the body. Azatadine-d3 is a selective antagonist of the H1 receptor, which is responsible for the allergic response.
Chemically, Azatadine-d3 is a member of the piperidine class of compounds and has a molecular formula of C17H19D3N2. It is a white, crystalline powder that is soluble in water, methanol, and ethanol.
The recommended dosage of Azatadine-d3 is 1-2 tablets per day, depending on the severity of the allergic symptoms. It is important to follow the dosage instructions provided by a healthcare professional, as taking too much of the medication can result in adverse effects such as drowsiness, dry mouth, and blurred vision.
Azatadine-d3 is metabolized by the liver and excreted through the urine. It has a half-life of approximately 10 hours, which means that it remains active in the body for a relatively short period of time.
Overall, Azatadine-d3 is a safe and effective medication for the treatment of allergy symptoms. However, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional before taking any medication, especially if you have a history of liver or kidney disease.
