Tetrahydro Curcumin usage and description
Tetrahydro Curcumin (THC) is a derivative of Curcumin, which is the main active ingredient in turmeric. THC is a yellowish-orange pigment that is derived from Curcumin through a hydrogenation process. It is a powerful antioxidant that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties.
THC is used in the cosmetic industry as a skin lightening agent due to its ability to inhibit the production of melanin. It is also used in skin care products as an anti-aging agent due to its antioxidant properties. In addition, it has been found to be effective in the treatment of various skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema.
Chemically, THC is a polyphenolic compound with a molecular weight of 308.38 g/mol. It has a melting point of 73-75°C and is soluble in ethanol, methanol, and dimethyl sulfoxide. THC is stable under acidic conditions but is easily degraded under alkaline conditions.
Studies have shown that THC has a higher bioavailability and is more potent than Curcumin. This makes it a promising candidate for the development of drugs for the treatment of various diseases. However, further research is needed to fully understand the pharmacological properties of THC and its potential therapeutic benefits.
