7-Epi Lincomycin Hydrochloride Salt is an antibiotic that belongs to the family of lincosamides. It is a derivative of lincomycin and has a similar mechanism of action as its parent compound. 7-Epi Lincomycin Hydrochloride Salt acts by binding to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, thereby inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. It is effective against a wide spectrum of gram-positive and anaerobic bacteria.
7-Epi Lincomycin Hydrochloride Salt is used in the treatment of bacterial infections, such as pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections, and bone and joint infections. It is also used in the treatment of acne vulgaris. The drug is administered intravenously or orally.
The chemical name of 7-Epi Lincomycin Hydrochloride Salt is (2S,4R)-N-[(1R,2R)-2-hydroxy-1-[(2R,3R,4S,5R,6R)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl]propyl]-1-methyl-4-propylpyrrolidine-2-carboxamide hydrochloride. Its molecular formula is C18H35ClN2O6 and its molecular weight is 424.94 g/mol.
