Acedoben-d4 usage and description
Acedoben-d4 is a deuterated analog of acedoben, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used in the treatment of pain, fever, and inflammation. The deuterium substitution in acedoben-d4 results in a more stable compound with improved pharmacokinetics and bioavailability. Acedoben-d4 is often used in pharmacokinetic studies to determine the metabolic fate and elimination of acedoben in the body.
Chemically, acedoben-d4 has the molecular formula C16H11D4NO3 and a molecular weight of 289.35 g/mol. It is a white or off-white crystalline powder that is practically insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and methanol. Acedoben-d4 is a weak acid with a pKa of 4.3 and a logP of 3.1.
In terms of usage, acedoben-d4 is typically administered orally in the form of tablets or capsules. It is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and metabolized in the liver to its active metabolite, which exerts its anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins. Acedoben-d4 is primarily eliminated through the kidneys in the form of its metabolites.
Overall, acedoben-d4 is a valuable tool in pharmacological research due to its stable and bioavailable properties. Its use in pharmacokinetic studies can provide important insights into the metabolism and elimination of acedoben and other NSAIDs, ultimately leading to the development of safer and more effective treatments for pain and inflammation.
