Nilotinib Impurity 11, also known as 4-Methyl-3-nitrobenzaldehyde, is a chemical compound that is commonly used in pharmaceutical research and development. This compound is an impurity of Nilotinib, a drug used in the treatment of chronic myelogenous leukemia. Nilotinib Impurity 11 is produced as a by-product during the synthesis of Nilotinib and is known to exhibit moderate to high toxicity levels.
The chemical structure of Nilotinib Impurity 11 consists of a benzene ring with a nitro group and a methyl group attached to it. This compound is a yellow crystalline solid that is sparingly soluble in water but readily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and methanol. Its melting point ranges from 78ยฐC to 80ยฐC.
