Albuterol D9 usage and description
Albuterol D9 is a deuterated version of the bronchodilator drug Albuterol, which is used in the treatment of asthma and other respiratory diseases. Unlike Albuterol, which contains hydrogen atoms, Albuterol D9 contains deuterium atoms, which are heavier and less reactive than hydrogen. This modification of the drug's chemical structure has several benefits, including increased potency and decreased toxicity.
Albuterol D9 works by relaxing the smooth muscles in the airways, allowing the flow of air to increase. This makes it easier for individuals with respiratory diseases to breathe, and can help to prevent symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath. The drug is typically administered through an inhaler, and is effective within minutes of use.
In terms of chemical information, Albuterol D9 has a molecular weight of 225.3 g/mol, and a melting point of 136-140ยฐC. It is soluble in water and ethanol, and has a pKa value of 9.4. The deuterated version of the drug is metabolized in a similar manner to the non-deuterated version, with the main metabolite being the inactive 4'-O-sulfate. Albuterol D9 has a half-life of approximately 4-6 hours, and is excreted primarily in the urine.
Overall, Albuterol D9 is a highly effective and safe treatment option for individuals with respiratory diseases, and its deuterated structure offers several advantages over the non-deuterated version of the drug.
