"Artemisitene-d2 is the labelled form of Artemisitene (A777550). Artemisitene, the oxidized form of Artemisinin (A777500), exists as a minor constituent in an American variant of Artemisia annua. Artemisinin precursors are the important basic substances for biosynthesis of Artemisinin, including Artemisinic acid, Artemisinin B, Artemisitene, etc. An antimalarial agent. Artemisitene-d2 is also an intermediate in the synthesis of Dihydro Artemisinin-d3 (D448362). The main labelled metabolite of Artemisinin, Arteether, Artemether, Artesunate. An active antimalarial metabolite."
