Naftifine-d3 Hydrochloride usage and description
Naftifine D3 HCl is an antifungal medication that is commonly used to treat a variety of fungal infections, including athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm. It is a derivative of naftifine, which is a synthetic antifungal compound that is structurally related to allylamines. Naftifine D3 HCl works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, which is an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. Without ergosterol, the fungal cells become weakened and eventually die.
Naftifine D3 HCl is typically applied topically to the affected area in the form of a cream, gel, or lotion. It is recommended to be used once or twice a day for a period of two to four weeks, depending on the severity of the infection. It is important to follow the instructions provided by the healthcare provider or pharmacist to ensure proper usage and effectiveness.
The chemical formula of Naftifine D3 HCl is C21H20D3ClN. It has a molecular weight of 333.87 g/mol. The compound is typically available as a hydrochloride salt, which is a white to off-white crystalline powder that is soluble in water and ethanol. Naftifine D3 HCl has a melting point of approximately 136-140ยฐC. The compound is stable under normal storage conditions and is not known to pose any significant safety hazards when used as directed.
