Zuclomiphene Ring-d5 Citrate usage and description
Zuclomiphene Ring D5 Citrate is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) used in the treatment of female infertility. It is used to stimulate ovulation by blocking the negative feedback of estrogen on the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus then releases more follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) which in turn stimulate the ovaries to produce more eggs.
The chemical formula of Zuclomiphene Ring D5 Citrate is C26H28ClNOโขC6H8O7 with a molecular weight of 598.08 g/mol. It is a white to pale yellow crystalline powder that is soluble in water and ethanol.
Zuclomiphene Ring D5 Citrate is a chiral compound with five chiral centers. The citrate salt of Zuclomiphene Ring D5 is a mixture of two enantiomers, Zuclomiphene and Enclomiphene. Zuclomiphene is the more potent enantiomer and is responsible for the pharmacological activity of the drug.
Zuclomiphene Ring D5 Citrate is administered orally in a dosage of 50mg per day for 5 days starting on the 5th day of the menstrual cycle. It is contraindicated in patients with liver disease, ovarian cysts, and uterine fibroids. Common side effects include hot flashes, mood swings, and headaches.
In conclusion, Zuclomiphene Ring D5 Citrate is an effective medication for the treatment of female infertility. Its mechanism of action and chemical properties make it a valuable tool in promoting ovulation in women.
